The 11th Annual Emer Casey London 10k will take place in Brockwell Park, Herne Hill on Sunday, 17th November next at 9.30am. The Foundation is indebted to Herne Hill Harriers, who have again done the lion’s share in organising this event. The organisers are delighted to welcome Canopy Beer based in Norwood Road, Herne Hill as a supporter of this year’s event.
This is a community event in picturesque Brockwell Park, South London and is open to runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities. All the proceeds of the race will be donated to the Emer Casey Foundation in pursuit of our three goals of raising awareness of ovarian cancer, raising standards of care for those affected and raising funds for research into this deadly disease. Every finisher will receive a momento promoting the work of the Foundation and a goody bag!
Entries are now open and online entries can be completed here. The race will be run under UK Athletic rules and the entry fee is £14 (booking fee included) for club runners with a UKA competition licence and £16 for unaffiliated runners. Entries will be accepted (£18) on the day provided that the entry limit of 300 participants has not been reached. Entry in advance makes it easier for everyone and is encouraged! Race instructions will be emailed to all entrants and race numbers will be available for collection on the day.
The race HQ will be situated at the start/finish area near Brockwell Lido and changing, toilet and supervised baggage storage facilities will be available there. Water will be available on the course and at the finish.
We are using the same course as last year. Runners will start by completing a smaller loop of about one mile followed by three full laps of the traditional course. We can guarantee that our marshals will make you feel welcome whatever your standard or level of fitness. Prizes will be awarded to the first three men, the first three women and also one prize each in the men’s and women’s 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 and 50 plus categories. There are also prizes for the first men’s and women’s teams (teams of three) based on cumulative times. Spot prizes will also be presented so everyone has a chance to win!
We regret that we are unable to issue refunds if you are unable to take part. You may however transfer your place to somebody else by contacting us at the email address below at any point before the day itself. You may also be able to defer your entry until next year by contacting us before 6pm on Sunday 10th November 2019. We regret that buggies, children under 15 years or pets are not permitted in the race under the licence rules.
