The 10th annual Emer Casey London 10k took place in Brockwell Park, Herne Hill on Sunday, 18 November. 125 runners took part and a full results list can be found here. For the first time this year there was a challenge between a Herne Hill Harriers team and a team from Youghal AC with a lovely Emer Casey Memorial Trophy sponsored by Flanagan Print in Youghal up for grabs. Many congratulations to Herne Hill who won on the day – though the Youghal team are determined to renew the challenge next year and bring the trophy home! Many thanks to James Ward (Herne Hill) and Ger Flanagan (Youghal) for organising and promoting the challenge. The friendship which has built up over the decade between the two clubs was renewed and strengthened at the post race prize giving (pictured above).
The Foundation again is indebted to Herne Hill Harriers for the superb organisation of the event. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Emer Casey Foundation in pursuit of our three goals of raising awareness of ovarian cancer, raising standards of care for those affected and raising funds for research into this deadly disease.
