On an ideally calm evening for running and walking, another successful Emer Casey Memorial 5k road race took place in Youghal on 12 April. Almost 350 athletes competed for the top prizes with many more walkers participating and enjoying the fine evening. At the finish, it was a double win for Leevale Athletics with Andrew Sheehan (pictured above) and Sinead O’Connor (right) taking the top spots.

The goodwill of all who participated was palpable in the Community Centre afterwards as everyone tucked into the well-earned refreshments. It’s hard to believe that this was our 12th annual run!
